Simple moments are the greatest treasures of being alive!
I agree…..it is also somewhat easier to be aware of the simple things when you are traveling and surrounded by everything new and different. The goal is to keep this mindset wherever you find yourself in life.
I think it’s when we allow ourselves the time and freedom in a day to be open to discoveries that we stumble upon these moments with more ease.
I love the fact that when I travel independently, the small moments of apparent nothingness–moments which would seem mundane or irritating at home–can be so enjoyable. Waiting in line at a cafe, sitting on a balcony just doing nothing, etc.
I agree with this one! I travel to seek pleasure at the most mundane and simple of things, places and people. One time, on Christmas day, I went to a Wat in Phnom Penh only to be invited by an old monk into the inner chambers and he offered me a blessings, out of nowhere, unexpectedly. I felt more blessed by the experience for the reason that it comes unexpectedly and so fleeting a moment that I get no moments to think twice or move away as a stranger calls upon me but when I talked to my Cambodian friends what it meant, they all told me instantly that the monk felt the burdens of my heart and true, that was the moment I was searching for my soul and at 35, I have had been through alot in life that i need to rediscover myself.
